Savannah & Jacob

If I had to list in order the things I loved most to paint it would be people, weddings and the ocean (or gulf in this case!). As such, you may rightly assumer beach weddings hold a special place in my heart! Savannah & Jacob got married at The Island Resort in Destin, Florida and they asked me to capture a candid moment of them during their first kiss. The wind was certainly what they like to call a "paid actor" that day and the sweepingly romantic moment was full of joy. We enjoyed beautiful skies, bright sun and all the color the gulf waters are known for. Compositionally the scene was handed to me on a silver palette ;)

S & J's reception was held just feet away on the green next to the Island Resort and overlooking the beach. The atmosphere was joyful and celebratory and the guests were thoroughly entertained by watching the painting come to life. I absolutely love the way this venue came to life after sunset with the lights and music and laughter increasing.

Savannah & Jacob chose an antique frame from my collection to match to their painting and I painted it live in the frame and sent it home ready to hang!
